The Bad Godesberg Art Association is hosting a joint exhibition by artists Viktoria Salma and Mathias Pohlmann titled “Faces of Nature – Visage of Time”. The exhibition, held at the Glaskarree, showcases their emotional and experiential journeys through portraits and landscapes, blending self-reflection with the natural world. Since 2000, Mathias Pohlmann (60) has explored painting using French oil pastels, acrylics, and mixed techniques. His art invites viewers to interpret freely, devoid of rigid intent, drawing inspiration from his travels and nature’s narratives. His works often feature impressions from Lanzarote, Hawaii, and Crete, created with a unique hands-on approach to blending colors and light on paper. Viktoria Salma (40) reflects on identity and connection in her series of self-portraits and depictions of her two cats. Her art examines self-awareness, inspired by her pets’ sensitivity to human emotions, particularly during the lockdown. Using a mix of pastels, ink, watercolor, acrylics, and oil paints, Salma creates expressive, abstract works that resonate with viewers on both emotional and rational levels. The exhibition features around 70 works and runs until August 1 at the Glaskarree of the Kunstverein, Burgstraße 85, open Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 5 PM.
